While attending Teachers College in Truro, I would travel to Petit de Grat on the weekends.

I never had to take the bus since Rene would pick me up on his way home from Halifax!

He always had a smile & some of his stories were hilarious!

It was never a boring drive home!!

I will always remember his kind & gentle ways! xo

very saddened to hear the news of Rene passing..we enjoyed spending time with him and Helen when we got to see them when we would come down for a visit. It was a welcome treat for us to go on the boat and do some fishing..always a highlight of our trip down. Rene and Helen would always make us feel welcome and we shared many good times and memories. To Helen and Richard and the Marchand family we would like to express our sincere condolences for your loss. May you rest in peace Rene. God Bless!

My deepest sympathies to my Pépé's immediate family. My grandfather was a very special man to me as well as to many people. He was a kind and smart man. I'm sure he nearly learned every word in the dictionary by doing crossword puzzles. He loved to play pool and enjoyed taking all of his friends and family fishing on his boat. I will always cherish those memories on Pépé's boat, especially the ones where he let me steer. I will love you always Pépé. May you rest in peace.

The picture of four people (who are now all deceased) are from left to right, Rennie Marchand, Harold Boudreau (my Dad) and his brother Abel and sister Aline-it was taken in 1956 at the Sydney Hospital when I was seven-Rennie provided us with a great deal of support and was a lifelong friend of my Dad-he helped us through a very difficult time in my youth-my dad was paralyzed and blind at this time-may all their souls rest in peace and may their good deeds never be forgotten
