GALLANT, Mary Stella

At the age of 101, Mary Stella Gallant passed away peacefully at her residence at St. Ann Centre in Arichat, with her loving family by her side. Stella was born February 24, 1917 in Tignish, P.E.I., to the late John J. and Agnes (Bernard) Gallant. She leaves to mourn her daughters, Agnes (Leo) Gaudet, Tignish, P.E.I., Carol Gallant (Jacques Boudreau), Middle Sackville; sons, Arthur (Doreen), Martinique and Brian (Cindy), Navarre, Fla.; grandchildren, Maureen, Amanda, Coralie, Gail, Deanie, Gina, Lisa, Nicole, Chad, Lee, Adam, Kris; great grandchildren, Daija, Justin, David, Kendra, Meagan, Dawson, Tanisha, Christopher, Connor, Brad, Sianna, Secoya, Bella, Christopher; great-great granddaughter. Lennix; daughter-in-law Donna. Besides her parents, Stella was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Leo; sons, Leo Jr., David, Edgar; sister, Loretta; brothers, Edmund and Edgar. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Stella and Leo moved their family from P.E.I. to Arichat in 1956 to operate the Rockloaf Farm. Stella’s longevity can be attributed to her active life style which she maintained until near the end of her life. She loved music, the outdoors and enjoyed nothing more than providing delicious meals for her family and many friends. She was a lifetime member of the New Horizon’s Seniors Club in Arichat and member of the Our Lady of Assumption C.W.L. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, from 2 – 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, 633 Veteran’s Memorial Drive, Arichat. Members of Our Lady of Assumption Parish C.W.L. are requested to meet at the funeral home in Arichat Tuesday evening at 7pm for prayers. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at 11am with Father Michel Exalant presiding. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Assumption Parish Cemetery in Arichat. A reception will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Parish Hall in Arichat following the committal. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Out Lady of Assumption Parish Cemetery or to St. Ann Centre.
