MARCHAND, Joseph Arthur Sr. - 91, Louisdale, passed away suddenly at his home in Louisdale on July 28, 2007. Born in Louisdale, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Minnie (Samson) Marchand.
He traveled and worked construction for many years. He was a former employee of Municipal Ready Mix in Sydney for 25 years, and later he was self employed. He was a member of the Fleur de Lis Seniors Club in Louisdale.
He is survived by his daughter, Muriel Martell (Joseph); sons, Wilfred (Claire) and Arthur Jr. (Edna) all of Louisdale; nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Rosanna "Rose" (Boudreau) Marchand; sisters, Marie Brown, and Eva Samson. Visitation will be held in the Glen Samson Room, in Louisdale on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday morning from 10:00 �" 12:00. A Mass of Christian Burial to Celebrate the Life of Arthur will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 in the St. Louis Catholic Church, Louisdale, with Rev. Duaine Devereaux officiating. Burial to follow in St. Louis Parish Cemetery, Louisdale. Memorial donations can be made to the Richmond County Home Support Services or to St. Louis Parish Cemetery Fund..
