Obituary of Edna Mary Whitty

Whitty, Edna Mary - 67, Louisdale, formerly of Samson's Cove, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2012 at the Strait Richmond Hospital, in Evanston, with her loving family by her side. Born in Arichat, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Anna (Joyce) Martell. Edna passed away like a flickering of a candle. Along with the great love she had for her children and grandchildren, Mom's passion was prayer and her belief in the Lord. She spent most of her life, until she no longer could, helping and caring for others. Now we will be able to live by her words and beliefs. "God will make a way, when there seems to be no way" and "Everything passes". She will be sadly missed by her children, Anna Whitty (Travis), Lisa Whitty (Sheldon) both of Louisdale, Donnie Whitty (Kelly), Fort MacMurray, and Brian Martell, (Carolyn), Halifax; grandchildren, Kayla, Latanya, Jarrette, Madelyn, Hayden and Hunter, Dawson, Savanna, Bethanie and Hayden; great grandson Owen; brothers, Junior (Darlene), Port Hawkesbury, Alfred (Jackie), Petit De Grat; sister, Madeline Boudreau, Petit De Grat. She was predeceased by her husband William Douglas and son, Dougie.Visitation will be held in the Glen Sampson Room in Louisdale today from 2 - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass for Edna will be held in St. Louis Church in Louisdale on Friday at 11:00 am with Rev. Angus MacDougal officating. Burial will take place in St. Louis Parish Cemetery, Louisdale. Memorial donations may be made to St. Louis Parish Cemetery Fund, or to the charity of one's choice.
