Obituary of Mary Priscilla DeYoung

DeYoung, Mary Priscilla - 85, Martinique, passed away peacefully at St. Martha's Regional hospital in Antigonish on October 4, 2012. Born in West Arichat, she was the daughter of the late Ceaser and Minnie (Shannon) Forgeron. She was a devoted wife, loving mother adored grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, knitting and spending time with her family. Although her name in baptism was Priscilla, she was more commonly known as "Grizz" given to her , by her older brother Stanley. Priscilla was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She leaves behind to mourn, her only daughter, Rose Marie McNamara (Hughie),Martinique; grand daughters, Debbie Martel (Jamie), Little Anse, Alicia McNamara (Justin), Edmonton, Alberta; great-grandsons, Brett and Brayden Martel, Little Anse; god children, Shirley Hillier (Arthur), Martinique, Brenda Matthews (Dean) Grand Anse, Joseph MacPhee (Linda), Evanston, Joan Boivin (Fernand), Pictou; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Peter James; sisters, Dorothy and Laura; brothers Godfrey, Harvey, Raymond, Alex and Stanley; she was also predeceased by her only grandson Craig Peter Joseph McNamara. Visitation will be in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat on Sunday, October 7, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, West Arichat on Monday, October 8, 2012, at 11:00 am with Rev. Andrew Gillies officiating. Cremation to follow.
