Obituary of Robert Stephen Benoit

BENOIT, Robert Stephen "Bobby" - 67, Grand Anse, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 22, 2007, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born October 30, 1939, in Port Royal, he was a son of the late Miley and Marie (Doiron) Benoit. He was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. He loved a game of any kind, if you needed a spare part, Bobby was the man who had it. He was a Steam Instrumentation fitter and a member of Local 56 Pipe Fitter Union, in Halifax. He was an associate member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 47, St. Peter's. He is survived by his loving wife, Olivia Katherine Gullickson, Grand Anse; daughters, Stacey (Doug) Bartlett, West Gore; Shawna (Ron Wade) Benoit, Halifax; Shelly Given, Mount Uniacke; sons, Stephen (Bernice), Louisdale; Shane, Halifax; grandchildren, Sabrina (Paul), Sean, Shelton, Todd, Chad, Kaitlyn, Jacob, and Noah; great-grandchild, Gage; brother, Cletus (Joan) Benoit, Ontario; sisters, Clarisse Danko, Ontario; Amelia "Mea" (James) Thorton, Florida; special nephew, Michel Dalyrmple, Grand Anse; special niece, Janice Conn, Florida. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews; god mother, Evangeline Bona, Port Royal; god son, Glenn Bourque, Halifax. He will be sadly missed by his dog, Theodore. He was predeceased by son, Sheldon Hubert; sister, Jean Spagnoli. Visitation will be held today from 1-9 p.m. in River Bourgeois Community Funeral Home, River Bourgeois. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, West Arichat, with Rev. Duaine Devereaux officiating. Burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, West Arichat, at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H.
