Obituary of Zita Mary Jane Gerard

GERARD, Zita Mary Jane- 68, of West Arichat, passed away November 19, 2012 in the Dartmouth General Hospital, after a courageous battle with colon cancer. She was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Alice (Samson) Landry. Zita was a kind and compassionate woman who loved her family and friends more than anything in the world. She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Kenneth, St Catharine's, Ont. and Darrell (Noëlla), Dartmouth; daughter Catherine Thibeau, West Arichat; Companion and "Guardian Angel", Gerald Boudreau; and his daughters, Amanda (René) Little Barrachois, Daphne (Russell) Nl., and Tamara (Ryan) Halifax; sisters, Norma (Murdock) MacNeil, River Bourgeois, Viola (Ben) Levandier, Bridgewater, Amelia (Linny) Woodstock, N.B., Donna Gallant, Petit de Grat; brothers, Philip, St. Catharine's, Ont., Carl (Lorraine), Tracy, Que., Herman (Yvette) North Sydney, Cyprian (Magdalene), Petit de Grat; grandchildren, Justin, Daniel, Marcel, Stephane and Tyler. She was predeceased by her husband George; brother Clifford and sister Madonna. A Celebration of Life will be held at the C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat, on Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held in the Immaculate Conception Church in West Arichat, on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery, West Arichat. Following the committal a reception and open house will be held at the Gerard family home in West Arichat. Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, St. Anne's Centre in Arichat, flowers or to the charity of one's choice.
