Obituary of Anita Mary Marchand

Marchand, Anita Mary - 88, of Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home formerly of Louisdale, passed away peacefully at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston on October 23, 2013. Born in Louisdale, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Sabine Rose (Samson) Marchand. Anita was the owner/operator of the Louisdale Convenience store in Louisdale for 42 years, she was an active church goer being a member of St. Louis Parish Council, choir and C.W.L., she was also a founding member of the Fleur-de-lis Seniors Club and loved to dance. A loving grandmother to Jonathan and Haley and truly loved looking after them. She will be sadly missed by son Marc Andrien (Dr. Debbie) Marchand, Louisdale; grandchildren, Jonathan, Halifax and Haley, Louisdale; sister Edna(Eddie) Boudreau, Louisdale. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Joseph Marchand; brothers Alphonse, Eugene, Raymond, Bernard; sisters Rose, Evelyn and Viola. Visitation will be held in the Glen Sampson Room in Louisdale on Sunday, from 2-4 & 7- 9pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday morning at 11 in St. Louis Catholic Church, Louisdale with Rev. Angus MacDougall officiating. Burial to follow in St. Louis Parish Cemetery, Louisdale.
