Marshall, Stephen Joseph "Stevo" - 64, of Potlotek, passed away on October 27, 2013 in the St. Martha's Regional Hospital in Antigonish after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Sydney, he was a son of the late Thomas and Pauline (Battiste) Marshall. Stevo was a member of Santé Mawio'mi. (The Mikmac Grand Council) He was an oyster farmer for a number of years and owned his own construction business with his partner Mr. James Nevins; M & N Construction. He is survived by sons, John Durward Marshall, Stephen Gerald Marshall all of Potlotek and Winston Joseph Marshall, Halifax; grandchildren, Josie Cremo, Torre MacNeil, Winston Bernard and Justice Johnson; brothers, Russell (Carol), Alexander (Margie), Clifford (Cindy), Maynard and Lindsay (Florence); sisters, Nora (Peter) Bernard, Eskasoni, Rosemary Marshall, Bernadette, and Sharon (Lester) Johnson all of Potlotek; godchildren, Claude Bradley Johnson, Nancy Johnson, Basil Johnson, Laurie Touesnard, Nancy Ann Marshall, Cassidy Simon, Olivia Isaac and Cleveland Nicholas; his companion Jacqueline Stevens. He was predeceased by his wife, Greta; paternal grandparents, Alexander and Rose {Googoo); maternal grandparents, Stephen and Mary (Basque) Battiste; sisters, Norbetta, Elizabeth,; brothers, James and Gary. Visitation will take place in St. Kateri Tekawitha Chapel in Potloltek on Tuesday from 5 p.m. till time of Mass of Christian Farewell that will be held on Thursday morning at 11 in the Immaculate Conception Church in Barra Head with Rev. Lourdusamy Mariadoss. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery, Barra Head. A meal and Salité will follow in the Potlotek Community Hall.
