Obituary of Mary Rita Marcotte

MARCOTTE (Jeffrey), Rita Mary - 86, Halifax, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Louisdale, Cape Breton, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Eva (Samson) Jeffrey. Rita was a devoted and faithful Catholic all her life. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an ispiration to all who came in contact with her. She was loved dearly by all and will be sadly missed and forever in our hearts. Rita is survived by her daughters, Anita (John) Brushett, Halifax; Judy Ann Marcotte-Rogers, Portuguese Cove; son, Donald Charles (Charlene), Upper Sackville; sisters, Margaret Messervey, Josephine Joyce, Kathleen (Joe) Venedam; brothers, Leo Jeffrey, Albert (Emmaline) Jeffrey and Arthur (Gertie) Jeffrey; grandchildren, Chris, Jason, Dave, Devin, and great-grandchildren, Jamie and Brandon. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Charles; sisters, Beatrice Burt, Mary May Sampson; brothers, Alfred, Joseph, Willard and Norman Jeffrey. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, in St. Catherine of Siena, 6466 Bayers Rd., Halifax, followed by a reception. Family will then proceed to Louisdale, Cape Breton, where visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the Glen Samson Memorial Room, Louisdale. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Monday in St. Louis Church with burial in the church cemetery. Reception to follow in the parish hall.
