Obituary of William Allan MacDonald

MacDonald, William Allan "Bill" - 93, Janvrin's Island. It is with saddened hearts that we the family of Bill, have to announce his passing that occurred in Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston on February 22, 2014, with his loving family by his side. Born in Janvrin's Island, he was the son of the late Randall and Mary Elizabeth "Mae" (George) MacDonald. Bill was a Veteran of the Second World War. He was a former truck driver and employee of the Fishermen's Coop in Petit De Grat for many years. He is survived by his daughters, Sharon Thibeau-King (Paul), West Arichat, Joyce MacDonald who took excellent care of Bill for the past 19 years, Janvrin's Island, Janice Dorey (Gilbert), BC, Lois Frank (Jerry), New Glasgow; sons, Reid (Priscilla), Ivan (Janice), both of Janvrin's Island, Ronnie (Daphne), Port Hawkesbury; 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; brother, Floyd, Janvrin's Island and sister, Jean George, Ontario. He was predeceased by his wife the former Mary Carretha (Shannon); brothers, John and Charlie; sisters, Dorothy, and Hilda in infancy. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday morning at 11am in the Immaculate Conception Church in West Arichat with Rev. Andrew Gillies officiating. Burial to be held in the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery in West Arichat at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society or to the Strait Richmond Health Foundation.
