Condolences
My sincere condolences to Armand, Claudette and family. Aunt Lillian held a special place in my heart. She was my teacher at the end of my second grade after my mother had passed away. I remember her being so kind and compassionate. She was the one second generation aunt that I always made time to drop in to say "Hello" and was always welcomed with open arms. When visiting at St. Anne's she always knew who I was and our last visit in the Fall was pleasant and happy. She will be dearly missed. My prayers and thoughts are with you during your time of sorrow.
One of my favorite stories is the night we took Lillian out to a bar in St. Catharines to see her grandson Doug's band play at Fresco's. Lillian was around 95 at the time. The band didn't start playing until 10 pm. We were kind of worried about it being too late for her but we went anyway. It was a great show and after the 1st set around 11:30 we thought we should leave but she thought otherwise. She said "I've never been to a bar before in my lifetime and I'm not ready to leave yet . " I can't remember exactly how late we stayed only that it was a great night! :)
So sorry to hear of the passing of Aunt Lillian. She was a truly amazing person! Always remember visits to her house with my Dad(Clem). She was an amazing cook. Always made you feel so, so welcome! Her & Alphonse were always so kind, especially to my sister Lisa. Our thoughts & prayers are with you during this difficult time. I think the longer you have someone the harder it is to loose them. She certainly lived a full & wonderful life. Mona & Dan Tonet (Lisa Pertus)
My thoughts and prayers are with you, Armand and Claudette and their families. Last Fall, I was visiting my Great-Aunt Lillian at St. Anne's.. I was stunned to learn that she still remembered my name! She was amazing at her age! She was so sweet woman! With blessings from Marlene and family.
Sincere condolences to Lillian's son, Armand & all Lillian's family, especially the grandchildren who I am sure felt so lucky to have Lillian as their grandmother!! Aunt Lillian was a truly amazing, humble, optimistic person & as my brother, Wayne, wrote in a previous message, we always felt welcome at her home & enjoyed her wit & humour as well as her amazing cooking!! Even at her 100th birthday I was amazed at how energetic she was and not a bit tired after spending the afternoon greeting so many well wishers! May she rest in peace & be reunited with her family members who have passed before her. With sincere sympathy, her niece, Francine Pertus
She has been a big part in our lives. Went to see her every time we went back home. She welcomed us with open arms and made us feel at home, especially with her home made buns. She was a very special lady and lived a good life. Condolences go out to Armand, Claudette and family.
My heart goes out to all of Lillian ' s family. She was an amazing lady who left an impression on everyone she met. She had an amazingly full life and was loved by many. May she be reunited with loved ones lost and watch over us from above. You are all in our thoughts.
In loving memory of my Meme. She will be missed terribly by our family. I am so grateful for the time we had together and that my daughter got to know her as the generous loving woman she was. Thank you to everyone who took care of her, visited her at St. Anne's, and sat with her in her final days when we could not be there. Yvette & family.

Armand, Claudette & family Just to let you know that my thoughts are with you in Petit De Grat. I visited aunt Lillian twice a year when home on vacation. For more than 20 years, when she was young in her early 80's, when it was time to end our visit, she would always end the conversation with " I might not be alive the next time you come home". I saw her last in July. Our visits were short but I know she appreciated them. We were very fortunate to have our mom with us, healthy for a long time. May my Godmother rest in peace and find some time to catch up on a few games of rummie with my mom. Lavina
