Obituary of Glenda Marie Cotton

Glenda Marie Cotton RN 1969-2015 We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of a giving and generous woman, Glenda Marie Cotton, 46 that occurred on August 16, 2015 at her home in Louisdale. She was the daughter of Edna Smith and the late Charles Smith. Glenda lived to be with people. She left us far too soon. She enjoyed the local community bingo and was well known at Tim Hortons. Glenda was an RN in Halifax at the QE II Health Science Centre Burn Unit, until 2005 when she retired due to the progression of MS. She had a special place for her cat, Tico, a companion since she stopped working. For the past 8 years she made the community of Louisdale her home and was active in St. Louis Parish. She was kind, giving, stubborn and tough. She was not one to complain and often said she wanted to do it all while she could. She knew someday the MS would steal her independence. She has left us heartbroken. She is survived by her mother Edna Smith and friend Louis; brother Greg Smith; sister Tracy Batherson (Gerald); nieces Brianne and Lila; Godchild and niece, Emily, nieces and nephews, Victoria, Kayla, Jacob, Logan, and Landon. Robbin Cotton, her companion and caregiver will miss her with all his heart. Glenda was predeceased by her father Charles T. Smith. Visitation will be held in the Glenn Samson Room, Louisdale on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral Mass will take place Friday morning at 11am in St. Louis Catholic Church, Louisdale, with Rev. Callistus Abazie officiating. Burial to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, Atlantic Division.
