Obituary of Aurine Jean Pardy

Please share a memory of Aurine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Aurine Jean Pardy (Samson) on October 17, 2015 at the Richmond Villa in St. Peter's. Born on November 23, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Mary Catherine (Boucher) Samson. Aurine was a devoted wife and mother who was an active member of the community. She began her career as a telephone operator and went on to work at Booth Fisheries where she met her husband Carl. After they were married she opted to devote her life to being a wife and mother. She was a regular lector of Sunday masses at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat, taught religion classes and volunteered to type the weekly parish bulletin for 15 years. Her devotion to her family was evident in her involvement in their everyday lives. Whether shuttling children to and from activities or taking the time to become a Girl Guide leader, she always found a way to be present in her children's lives. Married to her beloved husband Carl for 47 years, they worked as devoted partners to build a home and family while he worked at sea. Over the years, they enjoyed many adventures together and with their family, travelling far and wide by plane, sea and motorcycle. Aurine could not wait to be a grandmother and spend many hours colouring and making puzzles with her first grandson. Three more cherished grandsons would soon follow. Mémé will be deeply missed by her boys. Aurine is survived by her loving and devoted husband Carl; son Brian, his wife Lori and their sons Owen and Sean; daughter Shelley, her husband Michael and their sons Jonathan and Joshua; aunt Estelle Cuming; uncle and aunt Cornelius and Emma Boucher. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Audrey Baker, Ruth (Hiram) Holloway, Vivian (Harry) Brady, Greta Miller and Nathalie Pardy; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Noel Paul (in infancy), parents-in-law, William and Ethel Pardy (Harbour Mille, NFLD), brothers-in-law, Roger Pardy , Onslow Baker; several aunts and uncles from the Samson and Boucher families. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Richmond Villa, for their care and compassion over the two years while Aurine was a resident there. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society (NS) or the recreation department at the Richmond Villa. Aurine was a valued member of her community. Her kindness and generosity will be missed. Cremation has taken place. Funeral mass will take place on Friday in Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat at 11am with Rev. Doug MacDonald officiating. Committal to follow in Our Lady of Assumption Parish Cemetery, Arichat. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to, C.H.Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd, Arichat.
