Obituary of Freeman Skinner

Arichat Skinner, Freeman Sr. -85, passed away peacefully at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston on March 31, 2016 with his loving family by his side. Born in Richard's Harbour, NL, Freeman was the son of the late Reid and Violet (Simms) Skinner. He spent a lot of time fishing; he was captain of many draggers leaving from Petit De Grat. He was a member of the New Horizons Senior's Club in Arichat and also a member of the Louisdale Lion's Club. Freeman will be sadly missed by his daughter Sheila (Donald Blair) Martell, Arichat; sons Freeman Jr. (Yvette), Leslie (Bev), Kevin (Winnie), all of Arichat, Kelvin (Della), Halifax, Lloyd (Sarah), B.C.; grandchildren Sheri, Michelle, Chris, Mark, Wayne, Jason, Melissa, Donna, Matthew, Manuel, Jennifer, Lynn, Steven, Trina, Rhonda, Stephanie, Tracy, Teagan, Christopher, Jessica, Christen, Lucas; 26 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Linda, Arichat; son-in-law Aurelle, (Petit De Grat); brothers Hubert (Laura), Hartland (Bertha), Hiram (Beatrice); sisters Linda (George), Laura, Eva, all of Burgeo, NL; and his companion Stella Paupin. He was predeceased by his loving wife Vera Lillian Skinner; daughter Linda; son Brian; sisters Ethel, Harriet; brother Wallace. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 4th in Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat at 11am with Rev. Doug MacDonald officiating. Committal to follow in St. John Anglican Cemetery in Arichat. Memorial donations may be made to the Strait Richmond Palliative Care. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd. in Arichat.
