WHITE, Thomas Arthur, 79, of Halifax, formerly of Whiteside, passed away on Wednesday December 17, 2008 at the QE11 VG Hospital in Halifax. He was a resident of the Northwood Manor for the last 2 years. Born December 6, 1929, he was the son of the late Ambrose and Catherine (Carroll) White. Thomas (Tommy) was a well known cab driver for several Metro Halifax Companies for many years. Thomas loved dancing, a good card game and story telling. He is survived by his sisters, Mary Richard, Lower River, and Gladys (Doug) Bradley, Ontario; many nieces and nephews and special nephew Jeffrey White. He was predeceased by his brothers, Jerome, Charles, William, Cyril, Eugene and Ambri. Visitation will be held this evening in the Glen Sampson Room, Louisdale from 6 �" 9 pm. Mass of Christian burial to celebrate the life of Thomas will be held Saturday morning at 11 am at St. Patrick's Church in Whiteside, with Rev. Raj Zackarias officiating. Burial will take place in St Patrick's Parish Cemetery in Whiteside. Donations can be made to St. Patrick's Parish Cemetery Fund. The family of the late Thomas White would like to thank his caregivers at the Northwood Manor for the excellent care given to him as it was greatly appreciated.
