Obituary of Mary Evangeline Clannon

Clannon (Samson), M. Evangeline of Arichat, formerly of Little Anse, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2006 at her residence in St. Ann's Community & Nursing Care Centre in Arichat at the age of 86 after an extended illness. Born in Petit De Grat, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Mary Alvina (Samson) Samson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She served as postmistress in Little Anse for many years prior to her retirement.
She is survived by daughter, Geraldine Martell, Pondville, grand-daughters Darlene (Tony Morrell), Bristol, Tennessee, Lorelei, Halifax and grand-son Joey (Lena Urqhart), Arichat, great-grand-children, Luke & Grayson as well as adopted brother Francis Samson, Petit De Grat and special companion Francis Martell.
She was predeceased by husband, John, son-in-law, Hubert, brothers Lawrence (in infancy), Arthur (Margaret) and Lawrence (Leontine).
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, October 10th and 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM on Wednesday, October 11th, 2006 at the C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 on Wednesday at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Petit De Grat with Fr. Duaine Devereux officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Ann's Community & Nursing Care Centre, Arichat. On line condolences can be sent to the family at www.chboudreau.com
