Condolences
To all of Judy's family: I just heard from my mom that Judy had passed away. Please accept my sincere condolences at this time of grief. I remember Judy most for trying (oh she tried so hard) to teach me to play the piano.....but I think I was a lost cause! Her ears must have hurt each week after my lessons were over. Judy was a special lady who had the kindest heart and the most patience of anyone I know. Any time she ran into my mom, she would always ask about us and what we were doing (even though I left Cape Breton back in 1984) But I understand that her health had not been great for many years - please take solace in knowing she can no longer suffer. My thoughts are with you all.
Our thoughts are with you and your family Krista.
I am very sorry to hear of Judi's passing. I met Judi in Toronto many years ago when we both worked for Canadian Facts and we became fast friends. Each time there was a meeting after that, we always looked for each other and shared many fun times.I have often thought of her fondly over the years. My sincere sympathy, Elizabeth Mercer.

I want to extend to the entire Martel family, my sincere sympathy in the loss of Judy. We spent many, many hours at your house doing ceramics!! It was some of the best times of my youth! She was always happy to share her knowledge and gift of crafting. She welcomed all us Little Anse kids...on pretty much a daily basis! She was kind and patient and I will never forget the kindness she showed me. May all your fond memories bring you comfort! Take Care! Sheri(a Zander)

To Phonso, Krista, Joy, Sean, Walter, John, Jenny, Rebecca and all family Some of you know me well and some of you have never met me. Phonso, Judy, the kids and I go way back...to the days of traveling and camping...oh what fun we had. I still think of those times quite often...Judy and I sneaking off alone, away from camp and kids, at Old Orchard Beach where we saw our first invisible dog on the boardwalk, laughing and eating pizza; pulling up to campsites in this little car and three adults and seven kids would pile out...what a chuckle her and I had watching peoples faces wondering how we all fit in there; sitting in a tent in the pouring rain singing. Those were such happy times. As a teenager, I would walk up that road almost everyday to sit and talk with Judy...I don't remember all the conversations but I certainly remember laughing - with her, with Phonso and with you kids. She absolutely loved you guys. The last time I saw her was at the Strait Richmond Hospital when my Dad died. She was sitting in the waiting room and I sat with her and we talked just like old times...she talked about you guys - telling me where you all were now, what you were doing and all about the grandchildren. Although we did not see each other often in these past years I will miss her. My heart goes out to you Phonso, Krista, Joy, Sean, Walter, John, Jenny and Rebecca and to the grandchildren. May all the happy and loving memories be your comfort. Cora
