Obituary of Leo Callahan

Callahan, Leo Bartholomew, 76, West Arichat, passed away at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston on November 26, 2010 after a lengthy illness. Born in Giant's Lake, he was the son of the late Henry and Jenny (Pottie) Callahan. He was employed for 24 years at the former Piccadilly Tavern and also the Pinkerton Security in Dartmouth. Leo was a member of the K of C Council 4607 West Arichat. He is survived by his wife Madeline (Marchand) Callahan; sons, Leo Patrick (Shelly), Jerry (Deloris) both of Halifax, Paul Edward, West Arichat; daughter, Kim Callahan (Steven Fader), Mount Uniacke; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald (Joe), Dartmouth. He was predeceased by his daughter, Linda Ann Langille; sisters, Lena Kelly, Viola Morris, Kay MacIsaac and Tessie Smith; brothers, Jerry and Bill. Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday morning at 11 am in the Immaculate Conception Church, West Arichat, with Rev. Duaine Devereaux officiating. Burial to take place in the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Immaculate Conception Cemetery Fund. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the C.H.
