Obituary of Anna Phyllis McDonald
Please share a memory of Anna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
McDonald, Anna Phyllis,74 of D'Escousse, passed away at the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston on January 5, 2011, after a couragous battle with Cancer for the past 20 years, with her loving family by her side. Born in D'Escousse, she was the daughter of the late George Patrick and Liola (McDonald) Shannon. Phyllis knitted hats and booties for premature babies for the Guardian Angels for many years. Her passion was cooking, but to her nothing turned out just right. She was an avid Bingo player and loved a good game of crib, especially when she could beat Francis. She always reminded her children and grandchildren that "bridges freeze before the road" and also that a "North Easter" was coming. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Francis Joseph McDonald; son, Wayne (Adorna), Mt. Uniacke; daughters, Mary Linda Boudreau (Kenny), Poulamon, Beverly Anne Boudreau, Arichat, Darlene Marie McDonald (Tom), D'Escousse; grandchildren, Dylan (Kara), Tara, Melissa (Steve), Nathan (Nicole), Leo 111, Erin, Kyle, and Kailum; great-grandchildren, Avery, Isaac and Sophie; brother, Victor Shannon (Aileen), Martinique; sisters, Pearl LeBlanc (Raymond), D'Escousse and Helen Jean, Dartmouth. She was predeceased by a sister in infancy; son-in-law Leo Boudreau 11, and brother-in-law Leonard Jean. Visitation will be held in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat, on Sunday from 2-4pm & 7-9pm and on Monday morning from 9:30-10:30. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Hyacinth Church in D'Escousse on Monday morning at 11 am, officiated by Rev. Angus MacDougall. Burial to follow in St. Hyacinth Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers due to allergies the family request that memorial donations can be made to St. Hyacinth Cemetery Fund, or to the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society.
