Poirier, Zita Ida, 82, of Halifax, formerly of Poulamon, passed away at the Arbor Stone Nursing Home in Halifax, on February 6, 2011. Born in East Boston, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Clara Ann (Paon) Young. She is survived by her sister, Claire Thibeau (Richard), Halifax; brother Francis Young (Marjorie) Poulamon. She was predeceased by her husband, Maurice Emerand Poirier. Visitation will be held on Tuesday in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home i Arichat from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Farewell will be held Thursday morning at 11am in St. Hyacinth Church D'Escousse with Rev. Angus MacDougall officiating. Burial in St. Hyacinth Parish Cemetery in the Spring. Memorial donations can be made to St Hyacinth Cemetery Fund or to the charity of ones choice.To light a candle or to send condolences to the family, please visit www.chboudreau.com.
