Obituary of Daniel Clifford Sampson

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of Daniel Clifford Sampson "Danny" - 82, of River Bourgeois, that occurred at St. Martha's Regional Hospital in Antigonish on February 17, 2011. Born in Little Dover, he was the son of the late Michael Clifford and Lillian (Boudreau) Sampson. He served in the Army during the Korean War from 1951 - 1954. He was the recipient of the United Nations Medal for Korea, Canadian Medal for Korea, Korean Volunteer Service Medal and he was awarded the Peace Keeping Medal and participated in the Queens Own Honour Guard. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 150, Isle Madame. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Alice Elizabeth ((Pottie); daughters, Darlene Beaulieu, St Peters; Paula Lafantaisie, (companion Cletus Wedge), River Bourgeois; sons, Michael, companion Patricia Borden; Boyston; Darrell (Jennifer) Upper Stewiacke; grandchildren, Roxanne, Darcy, Daniel, Nicholas and Brandon; great-grandson, Jakob; brother, Bernard (Cecile), Dover; sisters, Clarissa Hilicker, Virginia. He was predeceased by brothers Elsworth and Percy; sisters, Ida, Kathleen, Marguerite and Dorothy. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will take place in St. John the Baptist Church, River Bourgeois on Monday morning at 11am, with Rev. Everett MacDow officiating. Burial in St. John the Baptist Church, River Bourgeois. Memorial donations can be made to the Veteran's Comfort Fund. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat.
