Condolences
Dear Clara and Family, There are no words that can adequately convey what you and your family are going through at a time like this. We are truly sorry for the loss of a husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. It has undoubtedly been a long and challenging stretch of time but you've been together as a family and that brings strength. The days ahead will at times challenge you so lean on those around you for support. Cherish your happy memories of your Dad. It's probably really hard to think past what has happened the past few days but with time those incredible happy memories will purcolate to the surface more often than the sad ones. It takes time, We wish we could be there with you. Take care of each other. Diane & Joel (Guelph)
My deepest sympathies to the extended Lavandier clan. I have thought about Wilfred a lot over the last week. I will never forget how he first welcomed me into the home like I was an old friend. He had a special talent for making visitors feel at home and for making me laugh. Despite our different backgrounds we had a lot in common when it came to opinions on all manner of topics and I loved how he was like an open book with his thoughts, feelings and emotions. He had an immense amount of pride in his family and the life that he had built and deservedly so. I regret that my travels didn't carry me to West Arichat more often for a few more visits, games of cribbage (which I usually lost) and tours of the shed. He is gone too soon but my memories of Wilfred are still vivid and I will always cherish them.
Dear Deloris and family ,please except my deepest sympathy on your loss. May God bless you all.
Sending our deepest condolences to the family, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. From Wendy, Margaret and family
Hi Delores, We're travelling in Nevada, but Karen e-mailed about Wilfred. We are saddened, and extend sincere condolences to you and your family. I met Wilfred in the late 70's; and got to know him very well when he agreed to work with us. I very much enjoyed and appreciated his humour and frindship. Wilfred always talked about you and the kids(and of course the grand kids, during the last several years). He was a great family man; and I know you all miss him greatly. Our sincere sympathy, and we hope to see you later in the month. Loui & Mary Digout
My Dear,Delores,Clara,Nicole,Rene and Rhea. There are just no words at a time like this and no greater loss than a loved one.Just know that you are all in our hearts and prayers.Knowing that Wilfred (husband/father)is in a better place now where there is no pain and suffering.May God Bless you all and know you will not be alone during these very difficult days to come.
Even though we lived in NB, I have very fond memories of my childhood when we would spend time each summer with our relatives in Cape Breton. I do remember spending some of that time with Uncle Wilfred, Aunt Delores, and my cousins Clara, Nicole, Rhea and René. To this day, I always remember how Uncle Wilfred had the knack of telling you a story and making you laugh until you were in tears.
Our loving thoughts,
Mackenzie, Riley, Carolyn and Michel
When I was 16, I started deer hunting. Not far from home so I could go before and after school.By seeing the deer heads on my wall know I love deer hunting.Well one evening I went out hunting behind home. That evening just before dark, out came a doe.I was so excited! BOut came the doe and I shot. She ran off a bit then i waited for her to bed down and my season was over. But then I followed her trail but she got up and ran.The next morning I tracked her again but lost the blood trail, damn! So the next day Wilfred came over with his little single shot 30-30 and his old dog muckachow. He helped me search and search, until dark, but no deer. That was my first deer but she got away.Well I never will forget my first deer,a hunter never does. But I will never forget Wilfred coming to help out little old me,to help find my first deer. R.I.P

To Nicole, the Lavandier family, and the extended family members, I was so saddened to hear the news of Wilfred's passing. Being high school/university friends with Nicole, I have fond memories of him. The thing that always struck me about him was that despite his rough, tough exterior, his love for his family was larger than life. It was nice to witness the special connection he had with his wife and children. He was a very special soul. So very sorry for your loss.
