Condolences
To Sandra and all the MacDonald Family, I am sorry to hear the passing of your dad (husband). My deepest sympathies for your loss. May the memories that you have shared over the years bring you peace and comfort at this time. Although no words can help to ease the loss and pain you bear. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Dear Loretta & Family, So sorry to hear of Charlie's passing, wishing I would of heard sooner. I did get to see him one day at the strait when Nancy Cameron was taking him for a walk in the wheel chair. I said hello & spoke for a moment wondering if he knew me or not but of course he did. I guess it was that resemblance of my Mother Lillian that probably gave it away. We all have to go through this journey & like everyone I'm sure you will have lots of fond memories to help you through the rough times. Take Care Gail.

Although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that you are very close in my thoughts and prayers. I remember oh so very long ago the trip Charlie, Loretta and I took in the little pontiac, and the laughs we had along the way. Charlie's daughter Darlene has been my best friend and co-worker for twenty years. I met Charlie a few times and very much liked him. Darlene on many occasions over the years has quoted her father's little sayings to me with her great admiration for him. My favorite one that I now quote to others and acknowledge Charlie as the creator is: "I'll forgive and I'll forget; but I'll remember just the same". Charlie.....another way your legacy lives on! Sympathy and best wishes from Cat.
It was a happy day at the Senior Centre in Arichat when "Charlie and Loretta" shared their 50th Wedding Anniversary with their family and friends. There were great stories and memories to share for everyone present, however, for myself, this was my first visit to meet this beautiful couple and their fun-loving children. Their home was quaint and warm - filled with love and the children that they nourished throughout the years growing up were quite a "happy bunch". I had to congratulate "Charlie and Loretta" for the fine job they did in accomplishing this - "5 rowdy boys and 2 good girls" all 1 year apart within a span of 7 years!! The MacDonald tales will live on for a long time.
Blessed to be a part of a loving family, Darlene
The MacDonald Home was a busy place on February 12, 2011 - the family celebrated the life of "Dad and Grandpa" for his 82nd birthday. A truly memorable day that will not soon be forgotten - "Charlie" was able to spend some quality time with his wife and family for one last birthday. Dad will always be alive in our memories.
Love, Hughie and Darlene
