RICHARD, Mary Lorraine 87 of Arichat

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Mary Lorraine Richard, aka, Meme Richard and/or Nana.  Born March 2, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Alcide and Eva (Richard) Marchand. She will be sadly missed by her 4 boys, John (Aurine), Roy (Giselle), Glen (Donna) of Arichat, and Andre of Kentville; Grandchildren, Ryan, Tanya, Bailey, Angel, Tristan, and Taigan; Great Grandchildren, Lacey, Lindsay, Lucas, and Reese; Sisters Eva, Edith, Etta, Francine and Delia; Brothers, Fred, Venere, and Bernard. She was predeceased by her husband, Simon in 1982; Sisters, Clarisse, Agnes, and Lucille; Brothers, Velma, Arthur and Francois and Alderic in infancy; forever in our hearts, her Great Grandson Lexton. Despite her quick wit and occasional sarcasm, she had a heart of gold and loved her family unconditionally. She was a member of the RC Legion Br. 47 and Br. 150, as well as a member of the former Ladies Auxiliary Br. 150 for over 25 years.  She loved old country and fiddle music and loved to dance. Living with Donna and Glen she often commented how pleased she was that Tristan could play guitar, although sometimes much too late at night and how much she enjoyed the fact that Taigan could ride a horse.  She also loved playing cards; particularly crib on Monday nights, and with her great grandson Lucas, who usually beat her.  She was an avid Bingo player and faithfully worked the Legion Bingo.  Meme (Nana) was a lady of great faith and we are certain that the doors of heaven were held open for her as she entered paradise to be with her friends and family again.  Her sudden departure from this world has made us more aware of how precious life is and will bring us all even closer together.  Visitation will take place on Thursday from 6-9pm in C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd, Arichat. Funeral Mass will be held in Our Lady of Assumption Church, Arichat on Friday at 2pm with Rev. Duncan MacIsaac presiding. Burial will take place in Our Lady of Assumption Parish Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Strait Richmond Health Care Foundation or to St. Anne’s Centre in Arichat. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd in Arichat. To send words of comfort to the family or to light a candle in memory of Lorraine please visit, www.chboudreau.com
