Obituary of Laurie Ann Samson

SAMSON, Laurie Ann 51 of Arichat

    It is with saddened hearts that we have to announce the passing of Laurie Ann Samson, 51 of Arichat on February 22, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born November 7, 1967, in Antigonish, she was the daughter of Joseph Omer and Mary Evelyn (Samson) Samson, Petit de Grat. Laurie Ann is survived by her loving husband Joseph Donald “Donnie” of 20 years; her sons Daniel (Amy) Samson, Louisdale, DJ Samson, Arichat; God daughter who was more like her daughter Adrianna Samson, Halifax; sister Maria (James) Goyetche, Petit de Grat; brothers Wade (Denise), Louisdale, Neil (Jalna), Shawn, both of Petit de Grat, Jamie (Denise), Heatherton; Godson Daylan Samson, Fort McMurray; nieces and nephews Daniel Samson, Fort McMurray, Renée Samson, Louisdale, Kamryn and Marissa Samson, Petit de Grat, Bailey and Carly Samson, Heatherton. She was a member of the St. Joseph’s Parish Catholic Women’s League. Laur loved her school family and creating new projects for the library. She had a big imagination and enjoyed writing children`s books. She spent as much time as possible out on the boat, her happy place. Laur had an immense love for her family and always put them first. Throughout her journey, she showed strength and courage beyond measure and inspired everyone around her.Visitation will be held on Thursday February 28^th, 2019 from 6-9pm in the C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat. Funeral Mass will be held Friday afternoon at 3pm in St. Joseph’s Church, Petit de Grat with Rev. Michel Exalant presiding. Interment will take place in Star of the Sea Cemetery in Petit de Grat at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Centre’s Patient Care Fund.
