Obituary of Blaise Jude David
DAVID, Blaise Jude, Alderney Point
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of a loving husband, father, and grand father.
Blaise Jude David passed away peacefully at his home, in Alderney Point on June 7, 2019. He was born on December 9th, 1947 to the late Arthur and Agnes (Landry) David.
Blaise was a hard working, skilled carpenter and spent 30 years working for H. B. and J. Contracting. It was a job he truly loved and he was a master of his craft. There wasn’t a thing he couldn’t build. Blaise loved to fish and could be found at any wharf fishing for mackerel or squid, which he usually gave away to other people. He was an extremely kind and generous person who would help anyone out.
He tackled his illness head on. He was always optimistic and determined to get back to the things he loved to do. This determination is what gave him the strength to push through.
Blaise is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Bernadette, who stood tirelessly by his side and took such loving and extraordinary care of him. He will be dearly missed by his son Leslie (Lisa) with whom he shared his love of baseball, hunting, and fishing., sometimes coming home with nothing but frozen fingers and toes. He will be immensely mised by the "Apple of his Eye", his granddaughter Emma. She was his pride and joy and he was always excited to hear about her school day, her basketball games, and her soccer matches. He was her biggest fan, who constantly encouraged her, to do her best.
Blaise was one of 12 siblings. Left to mourn him are his brothers, Hubert (Betty), Petit de Grat, Cecil (Jean), Petit de Grat, Huntley (Pat), Petit de Grat and Randy, Arichat; sisters, Wanda (Kenny) MacDonald, Petit de Grat, Claire (Benedict) Clannon, Arichat, Monica (Bobby) Duffney, Arichat, Noreen (Charles) Paupin, West Arichat, Nancy (Julien) Richer, West Arichat, Donalda (Rene) LeBlanc, Sackville and Judy (Gary) Oake, Eastern Passage.
