BOURGEOIS, Mary Margaret – West Arichat

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Mary Margaret Bourgeois, age 86 of West Arichat that occurred at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston on Monday, June 24, 2019. Born August 26, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Ryan and Annette (Forest) Norman.  Margaret loved Christmas time, flowers, plants and playing card with friends, but her greatest love was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved having family around her. Margaret will be sadly missed by her daughters, Anna MacPhail, St. Peter’s, Judy Morris, West Arichat, Diane MacNeil (Disma Plourde), Caraquet, NB, Yvette Bourgeois (Buddy MacNeil), Glace Bay, Yvette Silvers, Edmonton, Alberta; sons, Marcel Bourgeois (Mollie), St. John, NB, Michel Bourgeois, West Arichat; grandchildren, Charlene Short, Weldon MacPhail, Tanya MacPhail, Crystal MacPhail, Joe MacNeil, Agnes McCormick, Jessica Peach, Kevin Peach, Damica Bourgeois, Anthony Bourgeois, Michael Bourgeois, Hannah O’Toole, Seraphina Marchand, Savannah Long, and Thomas Silvers; great grandchildren Christian Short, Brandon Short, Jocksey MacPhail, Cameron Browne and Owen Browne; brother Ronald Gerard, West Arichat; sisters Anna Boudreau, Petit de Grat and Margaret Samson (Paul), West Arichat; sisters-in-law Marie Rita MacEachern, New Waterford and Victorine Aucoin (Roland), Dieppe, N.B. She was predeceased by her foster parents Walter and Laura (Dorey) Gerard; husband of 54 years Joseph Fulgence Bourgeois; grandson Julien Babin; sister Zilda Gerard; brother George Gerard; sister-in-law Zita Gerard; brother-in-law Rudolph Boudreau; sons-in-law Winston MacPhail and Kevin Peach. Visitation will take place in C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd in Arichat on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held in Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat on Friday morning at 11 am with Rev. Michel Exalant presiding. Burial to follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, West Arichat.
