Obituary of Joseph Thilmond Landry
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Joseph Thilmond Landry, 68 - of Petit de Grat that occurred in Cape LaRonde on October 18, 2019. Born on Arichat, he was a son of the late Newman and Alma Jean (Landry) Landry.
Thilmond was a member of the Labor International Union 1115, Sydney and Labourers Union Local 92, Alberta. He was also a member of the Isle Madame Royal Canadian Legion Branch 150 in Arichat.
Thilmond loved his family more than anything. He enjoyed spending time with his "best friend" Sniper, his dog. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and sharing stories of the good old days. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it, and lived his best life.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Norma; daughters Aleah Lorelle Landry, Petit de Grat, Natasha Anne Landry (Andrew Dunlop), Halifax; grandchildren Kieran Newman, Bryce, Shyllah, Eric, Jessica and Autumn; special friend, Matthew David, Boudreauville; brothers, Jean-Paul (Lisa), Grand Praire, Alberta, Louis (Alice), Port Hood; sisters, Shirley (Leonard Boudreau), Petit de Grat, Bernadine (Tony) Boudreau, Little Anse, Vilia Landry, Louisdale.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Carl and Weldon.
Visitation will be held in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat on Tuesday, October 22, 2109 from 2 – 9pm. Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday afternoon October 23, 2019 at 2pm at St. Joseph’s Church in Petit de Grat with Rev. Duaine Devereaux assisted by Rev Michel Exalant presiding. Burial to follow in the Star of the Sea Cemetery, Petit de Grat. Memorial donations can be made to the Isle Madame Veteran’s Comfort Fund.
