Obituary of Joseph James Landry
Joseph James Landry, 72 - of Little Anse occurred at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston on November 3, 2019. Born August 31, 1947, Arichat, he was a son of the late Francis and Mary (Samson) Landry. James was a member of the Social Action Centre, Little Anse and the Isle Madame Royal Canadian Legion Branch 150, Arichat. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Edith Anne; daughters Carla Anne Samson (Dwayne), D’Escousse, Gail Edith Landry, Dartmouth; grandchildren Adèle and Sophie; sisters, Edith Boudreau, Petit de Grat, Leah Samson (Willard), Samson's Cove; brother Francis (Catherine), Halifax. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his step mother Lillian (Ranson) Landry; sisters Theresa and Jackie; brothers Etienne in infancy and Elzear. Visitation will be held in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat on Thursday November 7th from 2 – 4 and 7 - 9pm. St. Joseph’s C.W.L. will be having prayers at 3p.m. at the funeral home. Celebration of Life will be held Friday morning November 8th, at 11am at St. Joseph’s Church in Petit de Grat with Rev. Michel Exalant presiding. Burial to follow in the Star of the Sea Cemetery, Petit de Grat. Memorial donations can be made to the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society or to Star of the Sea Cemetery Fund. A reception will be held following the committal at the Social Action Centre in Little Anse.
