While visiting PH Nursing Home I met Mike Owens and remember how faithful his wife was to visit. I didn't really know them but even in sickness they seemed so close. He often showed his beautiful smile during concert sessions. Sympathy to his sister, Gert of Port Hawkesbury and his wife & family.

I’m so terribly sorry to hear of Michael’s passing. He was an icon of our community. He has left behind quite a legacy with wonderful children and he always had a wonderful smile. My heart goes out to you all.

My deepest sympathies, 2 quick stories about your father that left a lasting impression to me, I was cutting hay at my grand mothers, middle of the summer, and was walking to the store. I was filthy and did not smell the best. Micheal stopped and asked me if I wanted a drive, I said "no, I was too dirty to get in his new truck" he said "I DID'T ASK IF YOU WERE CLEAN I ASKED IF YOU WANTED A DRIVE" I took the drive!

The second was when I was taking power engineering at trade school, I was on the simulator showing it to people coming in, I was pretty new and really didn't know what I was talking about and didn't care as most people knew less than I did. But who walked in was MIchael who forgot more about this stuff than I would ever know, and of course took and interest and came to see me, I know I messed it up, but he never corrected me and said I did a great JOB. to this day I still tell people these stories about him and how much I respected him.
