Obituary of Mary Beatrice Sampson
Please share a memory of Mary Beatrice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our precious wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt, and dear friend to many, Beatrice Sampson.
Born on January 28, 1946, Beatrice was the daughter of the late Ernest Joseph and Mary Cecile (Joyce) Samson of Louisdale.
Beatrice had the most beautiful smile and it was most beautiful when she spoke of her family and friends. Beatrice and Tommy built a legacy of love, kindness, hard work, and taking care of others. In the early years, Bea and Tom built T. Sampson & Sons, a business that made her so proud. More importantly, Bea and Tom built a family that adored her and she beamed seeing the kindness they shared with others. Nana was adored by all who knew her especially her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter. She had such a special relationship with everyone she knew and loved.
Bea’s family learned from the best when it came to feeding others. She loved a heaping plate of turkey dinner, a big steak, a feed of lobster, a spread of Chinese food, and everything in between. Anyone who knew Beatrice will forever remember her fun-loving personality, love of cards, camping, bingo, the casino, her Ipad, facebook updates, sharing recipes, surprises and so much more. She was no stranger to a shooter bar or a great party and loved a good time. She loved fishing, pranks, and seeing people enjoy her delicious baking. She was even able to fulfill a lifelong dream of working in a bakery over the past couple of years.
Beatrice (Nana) will be dearly missed by her husband of 54 years, Thomas (Tommy); sons, Gregory (Diana), Bradley (Melanie), and Dale (Tanya) all of Louisdale; grandchildren Tremain (Alysha), Kendra, Bryden, Adam, Colin; great-granddaughter, Blake; brothers, Andrew (Carol), Louisdale, Ernie (Patsy), Musquodoboit, Henry (Terry), Louisdale; sisters-in-law, Elaine and Joan Samson, both of Louisdale, and all of her extended family and friends. Bea’s illness was short but her family is so grateful for the time they got to spend with her. A special thank you is extended to the Palliative Care team led by Dr. Cooper, the Cape Breton Regional Palliative Care team, the VON, and Continuing Care team for their comfort and care during this difficult time. In addition, we wish to thank the staff at CH Boudreau Funeral homes for their care and compassion as we plan Beatrice’s final farewell.
Besides her parents, Beatrice was predeceased by her brothers David and Felix.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation as per request. Funeral Mass to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, December 18th at 11:00 am at St. Louis Church, Louisdale with Reverend John Barry officiating. Burial to follow in St. Louis Parish Cemetery.
In compliance with Nova Scotia’s COVID 19 public health regulations, proof of double vaccination and a picture ID must be shown to attend the funeral that will be by invitation only.
