Please share a memory of Germaine Jean to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful wife, mother, mother in-law and Mémé on April 4, 2022, in St. Martha’s Hospital, Antigonish at the age of 87 years.
Born on October 7th, 1934 she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Evelyn (DeCoste) Samson of Arichat.
Germaine became a teacher for a few years before starting her family and was very well-loved and remembered by so many of her former students. In later years she became a caregiver for a family that she held very dear to her heart.
Germaine spent many hours playing Skip-bo with her grandsons teaching them well until they could beat her, It was a game that she loved to play with friends and family.
Germaine’s greatest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren. She was so proud of all her boys and when asked about not having girls she would always reply, nothing could ever replace my sons and grandsons. Germaine was an avid baker, she loved to give to everyone and make sure they had lots of treats. She loved lexicon puzzles and cookbooks. She was a devoted Catholic and a life time member of St. Joseph’s CWL. She prayed for all of us and her friends and their families. She loved to shop and travel with Delmore to the United States and their time in Florida was an absolute delight spent with wonderful friends. Germaine gave selflessly of herself to her family, her life long friends by continuously giving to everyone.
Germaine is survived by her husband of 66 years Delmore Boudreau, Petit de Grat; sons, André Petit de Grat, Gerard (Jeanne), Bedford, Elliott (Wanda,) Mt. Uniacke; grandsons, Cass (Jessica), Beaverbank, Chad, Bedford, Chase, Petit de Grat, and Logan, Mt. Uniacke, and great grand-daughter, Raielle in Stellarton;
sister, Jeanne (Peter) Samson, Antigonish.
