Obituary of Jerome Benoit
Please share a memory of Jerome to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Jerome Benoit, of D’Escousse, which occurred April 29, 2022, at his home in D’Escousse at the age of 90 years.
Jerome was born on September 16, 1931, to the late Walter and Florence (Venedam) Benoit.
Dad was a gentle giant, both physically and personally. He was a man of great faith who loved his family, most of all our Mother Lucille. He prayed for the day when they would be reunited. He had an amazing sense of humour and even embraced the “Book of Faces” (Facebook). There were many Jerome-isms over the years. He appreciated people who valued a hard days’ work. He worked as a NSPC lineman for over 30 years and was blessed to be retired for as long. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren were lucky to have known him.
He is also survived by his daughters, Annette (Allan) Fougere, D’Escousse, Claire (Laurier) Nobert, Rocky Mountain House, AL; Monique Smith, Dartmouth; son, Pierre (Heather), Lawrencetown; grandchildren, Joey (Jonquil) Fougere, Frankie (Cassandra) Fougere, Rene (Dawn) Fougere, Kaleigh (Travis) Smith, Katie Smith, Jacob Benoit, Nathalie (Andrew) Manuel, Jean-Marc (Caitlyn) Nobert; great-grandchildren, Lily-Ann, Lincoln, Brennan, Ava, Zaara, Anita, Iris and Danielle; brother, Charlie (Theresa), Sudbury, ON; sisters, Beatrice Young, Massachusetts, Pauline Pascal, Burlington, ON, Delores (Cyril) Levangie, Frankville.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Lucille (Landry) Benoit; brothers, Lloyd, Ronaldo, Everett, Tony and Walter Jr.
