Your Mom and I were B Ed. Classmates at St. FX. Actually Louise and I first met at Government House in Halifax in Spring of 1968 when we were both recipients of the Lieutenant Governor’s Medal, your Mom representing Richmond County and I representing Victoria County. Your Dad lived across the hall from me in MacIsaac House at X. Alas we lost touch after a couple of years as we became involved in our careers in Education, your Mom and Dad in Richmond County and I with Toronto Catholic Board. Nevertheless, many fond memories of our days at X remain. May you too derive much comfort in the days ahead, from the many memories they made with you over the years. May God Bless and Support you in your grief.

It was a shock to hear of Louise's passing this week. She truly was an exceptional woman in many ways. Always firm, fair and consistent in her values and principles I always admired her fervor in defending her Acadian language and culture. With Mme Louise, respect had to be earned and was not simply given. She was such a pillar as an educator and community leader. Her knowledge and passion on so many things will be greatly be missed.

Louise was and has always been one of my favorite teachers. She taught me grade 9 or 10 English at IMDH. She was strict but always so fair. You could write a whole page essay as an answer to a question on a quiz, but if it did not contain the answer, you still got no points for your answer (no BS in her class) lol. I am so sorry to hear of her loss, especially so soon after Barry's. Your family's thoughts are in my prayers. Take heart knowing she was loved by so many.

A la famille de Louise, nos sincères condoléances. C'est avec tristesse que j'ai appris aujourd'hui du déçès de Louise. Je partage une mémoire en particulier; Louise taught me in my graduation year at Isle Madame District High, 1977. The class had voted and I was chosen to be the class valedictorian. I accepted the honour but it weighed heavy on me. I was not overly outgoing and public speaking was not at the top of my list of favorite things to do. Louise took me under her wing right away. I remember she was very pleased and seemed much more excited than I was at my opportunity to "shine". I wrote the speech of course, but she reviewed and offered much appreciated advice, she took me to her home (chez mon oncle Lubin) to go over it and practice until I was at a level of comfort that she was satisfied with. In short, she believed in me before I came to believe in myself. Merci Louise.
