Obituary of Mary Marion Boudreau

It is with broken hearts that we have to announce the passing of Mary Marion Boudreau (Maltby) of D’Escousse, which occurred at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish on July 2, 2022. Born December 31, 1925, in Poulamon, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Helen (Boudreau) Maltby. Marion was a lifelong resident of Isle Madame except for the past few winters where she stayed with her son Eric, and family in Pictou County. She worked in the cafeteria at the Canso Regional Vocational School in the early 70s and then moved on to work in the cafeteria at the Pulp Mill in Point Tupper. She enjoyed very much a game of 45, scat, cribbage, and dame-de-pique. When bored of that, there was always something to knit. She is survived by her son Eric (Florence); brother, Louis (Claire); daughter-in-law, Pam; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Daniel, Brian, Diane, Trina, and Julie; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Tyler, Glenn, Ryan, Nikita, and Isaac; sister-in-law, Cecily (Maltby) Kehoe; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter Dianne in infancy; sons, Norman, Glenn, and husband Gerald; great-granddaughter, Kayla; brothers Simon and George; sister Eliza (Osborne). Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 6th from 3 – 8 PM at C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat. Funeral Mass to Celebrate the Life of Marion will take place Friday, July 8th in Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat at 2 PM with Father John DeCoste officiating. Burial to follow in St. Hyacinth Cemetery, D’Escousse. A reception will be held at D’Escousse Civic Improvement Society, D’Escousse, following the committal. Memorial donations may be made to St Hyacinth Cemetery Fund or to St. Martha's Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd.
