Obituary of Jeanne Mary Forgeron
Please share a memory of Jeanne Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeanne Mary Forgeron on November 13, 2022, in St. Anne Centre, Arichat, eight days after celebrating her 101st birthday. She was the daughter of the late Newman and Clemence (Landry) Boudreau. She is survived by her sons, David (Anne Marie) and George (Rena) Forgeron, West Arichat; grandchildren Jean-Guy, Ottawa, David (Natalie), Tilbury, ON, Gilles (Anna), Toronto, Barry, London, ON, and Paula, River Bourgeois; great-grandchildren Alexander, Madeline, Elizabeth, Daniel, Ben, Ella, Andre, and Remy; sisters Yvonne (late Gregory) Madden, and Stella (late Arcade) Theriault, sister-in-law Christine Boudreau, as well as several cousins and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Clarence; grandson, Serge and siblings, Albert (Emily), Rita (James) MacDonald, Isadore Thomas (Rose) Giselle, Alfreda (Wilfred) Landry, Vincent, and Newman (Colombe) as well as all her in-laws and their spouses.
Our mother had a great love of family and when younger very much enjoyed having family and friends gatherings. Not only was she a great chef but she was very well known for her love of food and great appetite. Our mother also was a firm believer in volunteerism and as such was very active in the Acadiaville School Home and School Association when her sons were of school age, was very active in the CWL movement, was a charter member of the Legion Br. 150 Ladies Auxiliary, and a founding member of the Isle Madame Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society. When living in Montreal, she continued to volunteer with the delivery of meals to the poor and the disabled.
The family wishes to recognize and thank the entire staff at St. Anne Centre for the care and kindness they showed our mother on a daily basis and especially in the last days that unraveled more quickly than expected. A special thank you to Doctors Lawrence and Scott MacNeil, who for years, provided her with medical support.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 20th at C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, Petit de Grat at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 21st with Rev. John DeCoste officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. A reception will follow at the Acadiaville Community Centre in West Arichat.
