Condolences
Deepest sympathy to the Marchand family from brother Alfred and Connie. Your mother, Claire, was always welcoming and caring.
Claire’s smile greeted us every time we met, when we visited, had a meal, or sat by the pool. Her loss has left a hole not only in our hearts, but in the Samson Family. The Family Tree that hangs in the stairwell shows the love she held for her family.
You are Blessed, Claire.
All our love to you, Wilfred and children,
Alfred and Connie

My deepest condolences to the whole family on the passing of Claire, I'm sure she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Last year I had a visit from Claire, not expecting she would know me well but knocked at my door and surprised me with a beautiful shawl and a wholesome apple pie ! I knew Wilfred for many years and knew of Claire but had never been introduced to her but, on her visit I can certainly understand how she was so well liked and saw that Claire had a heart of gold. I'm glad I had the chance to have met her and, I hope that all the Families wonderful memories will give Claire's Families all the strength they need to get through this difficult time. R.I.P. Claire, God Bless you ! Fly high you earned your Golden Wings ..
Deepest condolences to Wilfred Terry Joey Shelley Kelly and families. Today is day that will be hard when you have to say your last goodbye’s. So wishing I was close to attend the service…However be assured that you are in my prayers today and have been since I heard of her illness and treatment. God had another plan for her. From above she will be watching over each of you just as she did when she raised you. Her love for family and community was truly evident in my years in Louisdale. We shared social times together and have fond memories. She will be dearly missed by you and and community. It’s always so hard to say goodbye. Memories are what keeps us going until we meet again. Blessings and much love to you all at this sad time. I will make a donation to the Palliative Care at SRH..

I am sorry that I could not be with you during this time as I am out of the country. I witnessed the love and devotion that Claire had for you and the wonderful, good, and close family that you built together. I have taken lessons from you both and applied them to my own life. I know this moment is painful; but take pride in what you have built with Tante Claire and take hope in the fact that you will see each other again because you both lived a good life dominated by love, devotion, kindness, humility, and charity. My heart has love for you both.
Terry, Joey, Shelly, Kelly and Barry
I would have liked to be with you over the past few months as you journeyed through Tante Claire’s illness. I also witnessed the love and pride that Tante Claire had for each of you. She was a momma bear who loved each of you equally with fervour. She built a great family and helped shape the good and kind people that you have become. Your closeness and devotion to family is a model for others. She made me feel part of her family when I was young and never appeared bothered by having a houseful of children running around. I express my sincerest condolences for your loss. I hope to see all of you soon.
On behalf of Michelle, Joshua, Christian, Jeremiah and Gabrielle, I wish you peace and hope you can find some solace in the great, impactful and loving life that your wife and mother lived by our side.
Love
J. Jason Samson

Sincere condolences on the passing of your beautiful wife and mother. On reading Claire’s obituary I was not surprised to see that her boundless energy continued even after her children were grown . She was a fantastic knitter and knit me a beautiful flower basket for my wedding table . To read that she put her knitting talent to great use and started a prayer shawl registry was so impressive and showed a real act of love for others. May all your wonderful memories bring you comfort in the days ahead.
Missing you a lot my dear sister. ❤️ You were allways putting the welfare of others ahead of your own. You have touched the lives of so many people by your caring and compassion.
You made a difference in so many people's lives. Your kindness and generousity of spirit will never be forgotten.
Rest In Peace with the angels, Claire.

Wilfred and families: We were saddened to hear of Claire’s passing. She was a wonderful lady with a heart of gold in compassion for all others. I witnessed many of her cross stitch talents as she would always come to Admiral for me to frame them. Your Mom would always hug me wherever she’d see me. I was visited by her & Wifred as they brought me one of their prayer shawl, prayers, medals & card. I’ve cherish it to this day. She definitely has golden wings and she is now in God’s Arms of mercy. May he give you strength to carry on in this life without her. She certainly left her mark on this earth. RIP Claire!

We are so very saddened to hear of Claire’s passing. Our hearts are broken for all of you.
Claire was a very special lady to us. She was the wife to my cousin Wilfred, first cousin to Peter & because of her, it was at her house I first met Peter, my husband of almost 51 years.
As a young girl, I use to stay with Claire when Wilfred worked as bartender at the French Village Restaurant. We always had great times together & I enjoyed babysitting & watching over her 5 beautiful children along with her.
There was a time in Louisdale & surrounding areas when people were reporting someone peeking through the windows at night. They did not know who it was, but we’re hoping to catch him. Well this one night, while Wilfred was working, Claire & I were alone as the children were in bed. We suddenly heard someone at the steps in the back of the house. In those days, there were quite a few steps. Claire gets up from the sofa & goes to the back door. She yells out, “WHO IS THERE?” Claire gets no response. We both start shaking & Claire heads for the kitchen drawer & pulls out a butcher knife. When she does this, I’m ready to be sick as she is pointing it in the air yelling out to whoever is on the steps, “WHOEVER YOU ARE, I HAVE A BUTCHER KNIFE & I’LL USE IT ON YOU IF YOU DON’T GET AWAY.” As Claire waits, she calls Wilfred at the restaurant & tells him someone is outside & to come right away. Low & behold, within minutes, Wilfred, Austin Morgan who was bouncer & a few patrons who were at the restaurant were at the house. They searched around, but found nobody lurking around. We never found out who it was, but let’s just say Claire & I were a basket case for the rest of the night. Claire was always ready after that in case it ever happened again.
It was quite the surprise for me when in speaking with Terry this week, she told me they found out who it was & when she said his name, I was stunned.
I am not an aunt to her children, but they have ALWAYS called me Aunt Linda & Peter, Uncle Pete. I have always cherished that & saw the love & respect they had for Peter & I. They were taught that from a very loving Mother & Father, & I know they will carry on the legacy of their Mothers compassionate, loving upbringing..
Claire was always a great friend to me. Every summer when we went home, we went to visit with her. We spent much time reminiscing about old times, laughing together & just enjoying each other’s company. I so enjoyed seeing beautiful decorations in her house. I envied the many different decorated Christmas trees, the beautiful decorations she made, the shawls she made for sick people, the time she gave of herself to decorate for others (especially some of her children who told me they could not decorate a tree haha). She had many gifts & was not afraid to share them. Her house was a showplace inside & out. She had magical fingers in making decorations, growing flowers, beautifying her backyard & so much more.
We will miss you very much Claire. It was very difficult & we prayed so much for you to be healed when you found out about your illness.
I guess God needed a special Angel in heaven to decorate the skies. Whenever I see pink skies or rainbows, I’ll know it’s you at your best.
Our thoughts & prayers are with all of you in the days to come. Cherish all the great memories, as I know there are many.
R.I.P. Claire. Your suffering is over & your new life begins in the arms of our Lord & with the Angels. Until we meet again, we love & miss you always.
Love to you all:
