SAMPSON, Charles Joseph “Bucky”, Antigonish/River Bourgeois
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Joseph “Bucky” Sampson of River Bourgeois, passed away at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish on April 23, 2023, at the age of 83 years.
Born September 09, 1939 in River Bourgeois, he was the son of the late James and Caroline (Samson) Sampson
Bucky lived most of his life in River Bourgeois. He loved fishing, hunting and anything nature related. He worked in construction and was a member of the U. A. Local 682 Pipefitters and Plumbers Union in Sydney. He also loved spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter Lisa LeBlanc (Larry), Hammond Plains; grandsons Daniel and Connor; twin sister Mary Burke, and Carol Ann Fownes, both of River Bourgeois; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his brothers Ernie, Rudolph, James Jr., James Carl, and Terrence.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation per request. A celebration of life for Bucky as well as his brother Terrance with be held on May 13th in St. John the Baptist Church, River Bourgeois at 11am. Burial to follow in St. John the Baptist Parish Cemetery in River Bourgeois.
Much appreciation and thanks to the staff at the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home and St. Martha’s Palliative Care Unit.
