Condolences
Words cannot express the sadness we feel in your recent loss. Blair was such an inspiration to us and mom while he was patient at St Martha’s for many months. Daily he would come down to her room and we would reminisce about old times..go from house to house in Petit de Grat and reminisce about the individuals who lived there..so many wonderful memories, laughs and his mischievous smile. He was an exceptional individual, and loved by so many people. Hugs to all- our thoughts are with all of you!
Jake and Blair and Family. So sorry to hear of Blair's passing. He will be missed very much, to say the least. On the many ball trips we made to ball tournaments or games at Home. It was always great to see him and have a Great chat and of course some laughs and some tunes, it was always a pleasant encounter. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Terry, Sadie, Kyle Williamson
Jake & Blair’s family, there are no words to express the void that his passing will leave in your hearts or your lives but I know how much he cared for his family especially you Jake. It was evident for all to see in his eyes whenever you would walk in a room or he would speak about you with all of the love & pride he had for you.
I will miss Blair and this certainly isn’t the outcome I wanted to see when I visited him in the hospital in Antigonish. I already miss him at the card plays, I will always miss his teasing nature and I find it hard to believe that I’ll never again hear him say,”Don’t talk to her Jake, she’s just trying to get you off your game” !!! Although I didn’t know Blair for a lot of years I could see he was a good caring person. May he rest in peace !!
So sorry for your loss Jake. He was a great dad and always had a smile on his face. Enjoyed having fun with him at crib at the New Horizon. He made me laugh every night. He will be greatly missed. Thoughts and prayers are with you, Allyson and your family all at this time. Susan Marchand and family
So very sorry to hear of Blair’s passing. He will be remembered for his good humour, hearty laugh and generous spirit.
Our condolences to all his family & friends.
May he Rest in Peace.

Jake, Claire & Family, Terry, & All of Blair’s family & friends:
We were very saddened to hear of Blair’s passing.
When we lived in Sampson’s Cove & Peter worked with Henry (Blair’s Dad), we use to visit him & Lily many times. We had great laughs with them.
When coming home on vacation every summer, we saw Blair at card games or the ball field. He was always happy to see us as we were to see him. It was like we never left home.
Last year on our 7 week vacation, we got to see Blair & sometime twice a week at the card play. Let’s just say he was the ball of the party. He loved teasing Peter with hugging me & laughing. As someone said, he would sit at our table & tell us not to bother playing as he was going to beat us at playing 45. He mostly always did with a great big smile & an, “ have fun because we won’t have to play you again as we are going forward, not backwards haha.” How you made us all laugh Blair. Playing at the card game in Rocky Bay with him & Jake was amazing to watch, as they were so very close & the love for each other brightened the room.
We will for sure miss seeing you & playing 45 with you Blair. You were the sweetest, kindest & most pleasant person to have around. If you were feeling down, Blair lifted you up with his wisecracks, jokes, laughter & hugs.
R.I.P. Dear friend. Fly high with the angels.
Our thoughts & prayers are with all of you in the days to come.
The beautiful pictures & tributes below speak volumes of a life well lived & the legacy he left behind.
Love to all!

To all the family,
The last few days have been a flood of memories when I think back to all the fun and success we had during our years on the ballfield together. A few of those photos in the tribute were as vivid to me as if we had played last night. There is no denying that Blair was the soul of our ballclub for all the years I played with Little Anse. He left a huge impression on many from New Brunswick to Sydney. His big smile and sportmanship will forever be remembered. Little wonder his passing will leave a void in the hearts of friends and family for many years to come !
God Bless !
It's been many years since I've seen you, but we always keep in touch, you were like your Dad a well loved man,RIP my friend, and I'm send my condolences to the family,
So sorry to hear the sad news about Blair.
He was loved by everyone in the community.
Sending sympathy, prayers and hugs to Jake,Terry, Claire
and all his family and friends who loved him dearly.
Let me begin by saying what a beautiful music and picture tribute.
Being from a small community when someone passes away we all know whom they were but Blair was a little extra special. Growing up in our small community, Blair was like a big brother whom was so good to both Darren and I.
I have nothing but so many fond and special memories of time spent with Blair from the early years of when the Little Anse Hawks travelled away for tournaments and provincials where Darren and I were allowed to go, only because Blair would tell Dad that he would look out and take care of us to having shared close to 15 years of playing on the same team with Blair as well as to all the special trips, card games and even got to take carpentry class together Blair, Wilfred and I which was extra special.
Blair was a special soul whom had such a big friendly smile as you can see from all of the pictures which which was only matched by his big heart. Blair was friendly and social to everyone he ever came across which allowed him to gain so many special friendships with so many.
Sadly, Blair was sick for far too long and is now finally at peace in the Arms of his Mom and Dad again and I’m sure has already visited countless others to have the friendly conversations with them again.
My sincere condolences go out to Jake, Claire, Allison, Terry, as well as all of Etienne’s family whom were all so very close to Blair.
Blair was such a big part of down home and going back won’t be the same not seeing Blair Bird around the baseball field.
Only fitting Blair passed away on Jan 22nd, Rest In peace big 22 until we meet again my friend.
To Jake,Terry ,Claire and the rest of the family:
Please accept my sincere condolences to all of you for your loss.I meet Blair years ago playing 45s in D’Escousse and we had many a laughs he was one of a kind. Always had a smile and when he went to the dances it was a pleasure to watch him on the dance floor..I will miss seeing him when I go down to Cape Breton especially if I get to the card play he use to say he was going to beat us.Never happened so practice for when I get up there we can have a card game and maybe you might win.It was pleasure to know you my friend.RIP Blair
Condolences to Jake, Claire, Terry, Alison, Shawn, his extended family, friends and our beloved community.
I will forever be grateful for the friendship me and my brother Barren enjoyed with Blair. He took us under his wing at a very young age and took care of us like we were his younger brothers. I will cherish so many memories which started with the kindness of his parents when we visited him at his home at the end of Boudreauville. Blair designed my own custom made Patrick Roy replica goalie helmet which I wore proudly as a member of Tri-County. In addition to so many other precious memories (the list goes on and on), I also remember fondly driving up with Blair to enjoy Wrestlemania 3 on a big screen at the Halifax Forum. I think they only time we upset him was when Adolphe would call on Barren to pitch run for Blair late in games given as you would expect from any superstar, Blair hated to come out of any game. I started most games which is why Barren was always available to run for him. Blair’s obituary was a honour to read given it’s such a great tribute to the man, friend and legend. Life can be so unfair at times given his young age. On a more positive note, 33 years with his pride & joy is a blessing. Our community lost another great man. Thank you Blair for your friendship and RIP my friend.
Jake,Claire, Mark, Jean Marc, Juliette, Joel, Alison, Joee, Jean Marc & families,
It's hard to find the words to say how sad we all feel about Blair's passing. He was such a driving force in our community. His obituary was so well written and every word is so true of his character. There are many houses where his work is hanging on their walls and on window sills. There was not one benefit that Blair's painting was not seen there for auction where they would get 200.00 and more. We have ours on the wall and I see it everyday and think of Blair.
When Lilly was alive, every Saturday I would go and fix her hair and I was always amazed to witness the Love that surrounded that house. Blair & Claire were her life. Everything was for them. I know that Blair was met by his Mom & Dad for sure. The ballfield will never be the same again without him sitting in his chair by the fence and cheering for The Red Caps.
May God watch over all of you and give you strength to say goodbye to your precious Blair and comfort you with all the memories he has left for all of us and there are many. He is no longer suffering the pains of this life and is now walking free

Dearest Jake,,Claire,Allison, Family’s & Friends: (Terry)
Sending our heartfelt condolences on Blair’s passing. You all have such wonderful memories to cherish. We will always remember his big handsome smile, friendly disposition and charm.. Thinking of you all during this most difficult time , hugs
To all of Blair's family, my deepest condolences. May you all find peace in your memories. Hugs.
So sorry for the loss of your dad, Jake and family.
Jake, Ali, Claire, Terry, family and friends, I am so saddened by Blair’s passing. I have so many wonderful memories of Blair, whether it be at ball games, or at his place playing cards or our place having chicken wings. One of our biggest laughs together was about my fast driving. When they were pregnant with Jake we went to the provincials in Amherst, when we arrive, Blair runs to me and tells me, hey Anna when Terry goes into labour I won’t be calling the ambulance, I will be calling you. He was an amazing dancer, so light on his feet, he would float around the dance floor. He loved unconditionally and was always there to help whoever he could. He has passed these traits to Jake, his pride and joy. May your memories help guide you through this most difficult time. Rest easy my friend, your work here is done.
Jake and family
Prayers and thoughts to Jake and all of Blair’s family on his passing.
I have many fond memories of Blair telling stories, jokes, hunting, playing cards… and having a few drinks of Kahlua at mom and dads before going to midnight mass.
Blair always had a smile on his face… in good times and in bad. Blair also had a story to pick you up when you were down.
Blair will be missed by many… none more than his family.
Rest in Peace Blair until we meet again
Love Joey and Cathy
It is with great sadness that I learned of Blair‘s illness hospitalization and passing. Blair was a classmate throughout all our elementary and high school years and always a good friend. I Remember spending much time at their house where his parents, Lily and Henry would always make you feel welcome. Although having lived in Alberta for the last 37 years every time I came back home it was just like you had seen Blair yesterday. He would always make you feel welcome, sit and listen to how you were doing , ask all about your family and reminisce about high school adventures, etc. He was a very valued and humble member of our community and will be greatly missed by everybody. Rest in peace, my friend and know that you have touched the lives of many.

Our deepest condolences to Jake and all Blair’s family and friends. We will always remember the joy he brought to mom while they were both at St Martha’s this past fall. Blair shared so many laughs and memories with us to pass the long days. He had a contagious smile and the most beautiful heart! Heaven has a special place for him and we are truly saddened that he had to go so soon. May he rest in eternal peace and may you find comfort in the most precious of memories.
My sincere condolences to all of Blair’s family. May your memories last a lifetime. Fair winds and following seas Blair.

I didn’t know Blair long, and I didn’t see him often, but when I did he always had a smile on his face and something funny to say. He will be missed dearly and thought of often.
Our deepest condolences. May Blair Bird's surviving loved ones be comforted and strengthened at this difficult time.
Sorry to hear the news. I worked with Jake in Alberta .Blair raised a great Kid. I never met him but I know he was a great father
On behalf of the Royal Canadian Legion BR 47 St Peter's I would like to pass on our deepest condolence to Blair's Family and friends! May he RIP!
Blair was such a kind man. His thoughtfulness for others was sometimes lost in himself. He believed others should be taking care of first…. From the start when he joined our family, he was the funniest guy around. He brightened up a room no matter the mood.. We spent many memorable hunting trips in McKenzie Point and the CB Highlands for moose. The trips in his Monte Carlo all shined up white lettered tires just glistening, the General Lee he painted with such pride, picking apples in Orangedale, rabbit hunting, baseball trips, him always being mad when Cat and I wore his new boots in the garage, his babysitting adventure watching Cat and I, crafting in dads garage, the security guard at the Pirates game who wanted to throw him out, his special drinking night with Pac-Man for Terry Kelly, and the list goes on. Blair was very much a brother to me and his passing is difficult. I hope more than anything he is at peace and looking down on Jake and his legacy of giving and love. I miss you B. Until we meet again. Love you.
