GOODWIN Mary Bridget, Potlotek
Mary Bridget Goodwin fondly called “Mum Mum” peacefully passed away at her home on March 6, 2024, at the age of 75 years. She was born on March 11, 1948, to the late Jacob and Madeline (Nicholas) Battiste.
Bridget was predeceased in death by her late husband William (Bill) Goodwin; daughter Letitia, and step-son Neil.
She is survived by her children Annette (Jacky), and Billy (Megan) Goodwin; step-daughter Shawna Goodwin, and her longtime companion Charlie Cotie.
Bridget overcame the hardship of residential school yet her spirit remained unbroken. She was a foster mother and good Samaritan. Without expecting anything in return, Bridget took in many guests throughout the years until they got on their own two feet. She was a medical taxi driver and also drove for the Children’s Aid Society.
Bridget’s loss is deeply felt by her sisters, Alfreda (Barry) Worthen, Elizabeth Benoit, Harriet Battiste Matthews (Hubert), and Marlene Julian.
She is reunited in death with her sister Helen Battiste; brothers Vincent, Anthony, Peter Battiste, and infant brother Jacob Joseph.
Bridget adored her grandchildren, Raven, Tallyn, Taiha, Sibi, Felicitas, Ander, Jacob, and her dog Xena.
She is best known for her infectious laugh and good sense of humour. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crafting, bingo, card games, and country music.
Bridget had a zest for life and was always on the go. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience and kindness
