Obituary of Corinne Marie Boudreau

BOUDREAU, Corinne Marie - Arichat It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Corinne Marie Boudreau, of Arichat that occurred at her residence in St Anne Community and Nursing Care Centre in Arichat on March 15, 2024 with her loving family by her side. Born May 16, 1929 in Port Royal, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Blanche (LeJeune) Hureau. Corinne spent her early years in her beloved community of Port Royal and after graduating at the top of her class, taught school there for two years before moving to Arichat. Corinne was a devout Catholic who was a founding member of Notre Dame de l’Assomption Catholic Women’s League. During her decades of community service, Corinne was an executive member of the St. Anne Community Nursing Care Centre’s Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Isle Madame Historical Society. A proud Isle Madame resident and Francophone Acadian, as well as a devoted mother and wife, Corinne was a life-long supporter of the Liberal Party who came to life even in her final days when asked about her political persuasion. An assertive and intelligent woman who was ahead of her time, Corinne was known for her keen fashion sense and impeccable style, she was an award-winning bowler, and a knowledgeable baseball and hockey fan. Corinne was one of a kind and will be truly missed. She is survived by her son Donald (Donna) Boudrot, Arichat; grandchildren Jason (Janette), and Jake Boudrot, both of Archat, Dawn (Nicholas) Kehoe, Rocky Bay; great grandchildren Eliza, Ella, and Abraham Boudrot, Ruby Kehoe, and Nathan Wilson. Corinne was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband Lorenzo; brother John Hureau, sisters Ella Theriault, Clarisse Samson, Emma Young, Rejean Atkinson, and Helen Boudreau. Visitation will be held in C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat, on Friday March 22nd, 2024 from 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral mass to celebration the life of Corinne will take place on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024 in Our Lady of Assomption Church, Arichat at 11am with Rev. John DeCoste officiating. Burial to follow in Our Lady of Assomption Parish Cemetery, Arichat followed by a reception at Our Lady of Assomption Hall. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Anne Community and Nursing Care Centre Ladies Auxiliary. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd., Arichat.
