Please share a memory of Joseph Deseray to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with deep sadness that we the family announce the passing of Joseph Deseray Boudreau, 96, of Louisdale which occurred at Saint Martha’s Hospital in Antigonish on Wednesday, June 5th, 2024 surrounded by family. Born November 2nd, 1927 in Louisdale, he was the son of the late Thomas and Virginie ´Tina’ (Landry) Boudreau. He was an iron worker by trade who worked throughout Canada.
Uncle Delay/Uncle Jer/Uncle Jerry/Big Bear lived a great life. He was very active right up until the last year of his life. He could often be found outside, hunting, fishing, gardening, at his cottage, or working around the yard. He loved playing cards, playing tricks, and joking around. He also loved helping people out and gatherings with friends and family, especially at their cottage. You could always count on him to lend a helping hand whether you needed to replace a roof, build a deck, build a shed, etc. Deseray was loved by many, especially his nieces, nephews, God children, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. He was a second father to many, especially to the Pierce family. He will be greatly missed.
Deseray was predeceased by his loving wife Norma (Samson) Boudreau. Norma and Deseray were married on the 12th of September 1955 and were together for over 70 years. Their love for one another was a beautiful thing.
Deseray is survived by his sister Elizabeth (Don) Henri, Petit de Grat, sister-in-laws Yvonne (Wilson) Pierce, Samson’s Cove, and Carol (Alphonse) Shanahan, Vancouver. He was also predeceased by brothers Arthur, Raymond, Willard ´Bob’ (Leta), sisters Cecilia Sampson, Amelia (Tony) Feretti, Lucy (Edward) Jeffrey, Verona (Jack) Hillier, brother-in-law Paulie (Jeanette) Samson, Wilson (Yvonne) Pierce and Alphonse (Carol) Samson.
A special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff in Palliative care at Saint Martha’s Hospital and all staff and caregivers at Richmond Villa in St Peter’s.
