BERTELE, Martin 60 of Cleveland
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Martin Bertele which occurred at his home on July 4th, 2024. Born on November 9th, 1963, he was the son of the late Leonhard and Maria (Kämmerle) Bertele.
Martin was honest, had a big heart, never let anyone down, and was always there for his family. He loved to work with machines like his old wheel loader and the excavator – and always kept them clean. Making firewood was his thing, from cutting trees to splitting the wood and stacking it. He had it down to a science and his stacks never fell. Martin was always open to learning something new and once he set his mind to something, no one could stop him. He always had an answer and was our walking dictionary.
Martin loved animals. He enjoyed going to the beach, the Big Stop, and eating Rodney’s fish and seafood. He loved our homemade cooking and the girls’ homemade baking.
Martin was truly one of a kind and can never be replaced or forgotten. For us, he was the best man we have ever known. His love for his wife, Petra, was eternal and his children and grandchildren were his world. He chose a life with God and taught us his beliefs well.
Martin will be dearly missed by his loving wife Petra (Auerbeck) Bertele, daughter Beatrix (Bea) Bertele, sons Simon with Jillian and Florian with Luisa, grandchildren Luca Martin Bertele and Selina, godson Martin Sinstein, his brother-in-law Georg Sinstein, nephew Markus Sinstein and nephew Andreas Bertele.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Maria Sinstein, and sister-in-law Berta Bertele.
A committal will take place in the Grantville Cemetery, in Grantville on Thursday, July 11th at 11 am, with Rev. Connie McNamara ministering. Everyone is invited to attend.
