Obituary of Michel Anthoney Joseph Babin

Babin, Michel Anthoney Joseph, 68 -West Arichat It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michel Anthoney Joseph Babin of West Arichat, that passed away on August 17th, 2024. Born in Arichat, he was the son of Mildred Babin (Forgeron) and the late Curtis Babin. Michel began his career at sea on Oil Tankers as a Bosun and Wheelsman. He then continued to work for Atlantic Towing as a Deckhand. Michel enjoyed working on old cars and doing body work. He loved to tell stories about his adventures from afar and at home. Michel is survived by his mother Mildred Babin; daughters Chelsea (Christine) Clannon, Howie Center, Beckey Clannon (Kate MacPherson), New Waterford; granddaughter Ysabeau Rose Clannon, Howie Center; sisters Betty (Thelma) Dorey, West Arichat, Joanne Babin, Port Hawkesbury, Dianne Gero (Donald Garland), Halifax, Lynette (Tommy) Forgeron, West Arichat, Paulette Mury (Martin Matthews), Black River. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Michel was predeceased by his father Curtis Babin and son Julien Babin. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Michel’s life will take place at the Acadiaville Community Centre Highway 206 in West Arichat on August 31, 2024 from 10 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to Canadian Cancer Society, www.cancer.ca.
