It is with broken hearts that the family of Lillian Elizabeth Marshall announces her passing which occurred at her home surrounded by loving family in Potlotek on January 4, 2025. Born in Antigonish on May 14, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Agnes (Marshall) Nicholas. Lillian spent a lot of her Summers in Maine and liked to stay at the camps during blueberry season. She also spent a lot of time on the pow-wow trails. She enjoyed playing cards, and bingo with her sisters, children, and grandchildren. Lillian faithfully watched every WWE event that aired. She worked for the Potlotek Band for many years, doing many different things. She also drove the bus for the Boston Indian Council. She is survived by her children, Frances, Laura (Russell), Jeanette (Maynard), Peter, Marivel (John John), Tabitha (Eugene), Carmen, Louie (Nicole), Cleveland (Winter), and her honorary son, Henry; siblings, Hazel (Ryan deceased), Marlyn (Godchild), Cathy, Marian, Katrina, and Michael; Godchildren, Gail, Crystal, Mary, Lillian (Bunny), Lori, Jeffrey, and Steven. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Edwin, brother Peter, and sister Margaret. Visitation will be held at the Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Chapel in Chapel Island from 4 pm on Tuesday, January 7th up until 10 am on January 9th. Funeral mass to Celebrate the Life of Lilian will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church in Barra Head on Thursday, January 9th at 11 am officiated by Father Duncan MacIsaac. Burial to follow in the Immaculate Conception Parish cemetery, Barra Head. A Salite will be held following the burial at the Potlotek Community Hall.
