Obituary of Joques Albert (Bert) LeBlanc

Joques Albert (Bert) LeBlanc 1939 - 2025 The family of Joques Albert (Bert) LeBlanc announces his passing on January 20, 2025, at Hospice Cape Breton, Sydney, N.S. Born July 16, 1939, in Arichat, he was the son of the late Jacques Albert and Adèle Emma (Delima DeCoste) LeBlanc. He is survived by his wife Carmella (LeBlanc) LeBlanc, Arichat; daughters Francine (Adrian) Marchand, Brampton, Ont. and Martine (Bradley) Cavanaugh, Bathurst, N.B.; grandchildren Alyssa and Emilie Marchand, James and Joseph Cavanaugh. He is also survived by brother Joseph (Karen), Eastern Passage; sister-in-law Colina LeBlanc, Arichat; brother-in-law Colin Boucher, Petit-de-Grat; sister-in-law Rachel LeBlanc, Kentville; brother-in-law Paul LeBlanc, Little Brook Station; sister-in-law Anna LeBlanc, Bedford, sisters-in-law Marie Newell (Roger), Fall River and Elise LeBlanc, Northwood, Halifax, as well as several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Andrew, Clifford; sister Bertha Boucher, father, and mother-mother-in-law, J.H. Camille, and Bernadette Marie (Comeau) LeBlanc, sister-in-law Lorraine LeBlanc. Bert was a 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus, Lawrence Kavanagh Council 4607, West Arichat. He was also a member of the Seafarers’ International Union of Canada, the Public Service Alliance of Canada, and the Labourer’s International Union Local 1115. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Our Lady of Assumption Parish Cemetery, Arichat. Memorial donations can be made to Hospice Cape Breton, Sydney, N.S.
