Obituary of Rose Elvina Doyle

Doyle, Rose Elvina (Bates) �" 66, D'Escousse, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2008 at the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Louisbourg, she was a daughter of Mary Elizabeth (Campbell) Bates and the late Thomas Martin Bates. Rose was a board member of GASHA Community Health Board and Community Links. She was very active in St. Hyacinth Church and choir and was also a member of St. Hyacinth C.W.L. She was a retired Registered Nurse. Rose was a kind and caring soul; devoted to family and friends; quiet in strength; rich in wisdom; subtle in wit. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 44 years, Joseph Earl Doyle; daughters: Siobhan Elizabeth Doyle (Andre Lavandier), Kentville, Shannon Maureen Lionais (Michael), Ottawa; son Patrick Joseph, Toronto; grandchildren: Sebastian, Aislin, Cyndeyr and Caoimhe; sisters: Patricia Mullins (William), Louisbourg, Pauline MacDonald (William), Stillwater Lake, Helen Carter (Lloyd), French Road Gabarus; brother, Thomas Bates (Jackie), Eastern Passage.
Visitation will be held in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat, on Friday, May 02, 2008 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Rose will be held on Saturday, May 03, 2008 at 11:00 am in St. Hyacinth Church, D'Escousse, with Rev. Angus MacDougall officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Hyacinth Parish Cemetery, D'Escousse. Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat.
