Obituary of Francis Michael Samson

Petit de Grat Samson, Francis Michael It is with saddened hearts that we have to announce the passing of Francis Michael Samson that occurred at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston on April 13th 2016 at the age of 93. Born in Louisdale he was the son of the late Michael and Sabin Rose (Samson) Samson. Francis was a former employee of Booth Fisheries from where he retired but in later years returned to Booth Fisheries to train the Fish Cutters. Francis was a quiet and gentle man who loved to play cards and dance. In fact, he was a beautiful dancer and the ladies would line up for their chance to dance with him at the dances. He is survived by his son Lloyd (Cecile), Port Hawkesbury; grandsons Stephen (Julie), Barrie Ontario, Mark (Tara), St. Andrews Antigonish; great grand daughter Nova Mae Samson, (Barrie Ontario); great grandsons Liam and Ryan Samson, St Andrews Antigonish; sister Theresa Boudreau, Antigonish. He is predeceased by his wife Christine (Landry); brothers Frederick, Michael, Helaire, Arthur, Leo, Walter, Felix, Joe, Tommy; sisters Mary Ann, Sabine Rose, Genevieve, Mary Sarah Jane; step sisters Mary Virginia; step brothers Joseph Michael, Albert, Johnnie, and William. Visitation will be held in C.H. Boudreau funeral home in Arichat on Sunday April 17th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral mass will take place Monday, April 18th at 11am in St. Joseph's Church in Petit de Grat. Committal to follow in Star of the Sea Cemetery, Petit de Grat. Reception to follow the committal in St. Joseph's Parish Hall, Petit de Grat. Memorial donations can be made to the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society or to the charity of one's choice.
