Obituary of Brenda Kathleen Boudreau

Boudreau ( Lawson ) Brenda Kathleen, 58, It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that we the family announce Brenda's passing after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday April 19, 2007 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Douglas and Cordella ( Lewis ) Lawson.
Brenda was a member of the Black River United Church, past president of the Louisdale Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Aux., a 25 year Member of Branch 47 Royal Canadian Legion St. Peters. She was an active member of the Cursillo movement in Richmond County. She served on the Board of Directors for the Louisdale Co-op, and was actively involved with the local figure skating club, Girl Guides, and the Strait Richmond Hospital. Most recently as group leader for the Baraco Beauties team, in the Relay for Life.
Brenda was a former employee of Landry Brothers Ltd, Multimesh and EDS.
Throughout her life time, Brenda has always maintained a positive attitude, and it did not waiver during her battle with cancer. The endless stream of visitors she received was a testament to the many lives she has touched throughout her life time. For many years, Brenda has had a special place in her heart for her summer home in Dundee. Despite her illness, nothing kept her from spending one last summer, surrounded by her family and friends, and watching the sunsets in Dundee.
Brenda is survived by her loving husband Merlin of 38 years, daughter Treena, Mississauga, son Adrian ( Betty Anne) and her children Ashley & Bradley Marchand; Arichat, granddaughter MacKenzie Paige, Sister: Alice Lawson, Brother: Raymond both of Ball's Creek, Sister in Law Carol Gardner,( Lawson ) Florida, she was predeceased by brother Gordon.
Visitation will be held today and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 in the Glen Sampson Memorial Room , Louisdale. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Louis Church, Louisdale with Fr. Gary MacPherson and Rev. Jim Bragan officiating. Burial will follow in St. Louis Cemetery.
Reception to follow in St. Louis Parish Hall.
In lieu of Flowers donations may be made to: Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton or to the Baraco Beauties ( Relay for Life Team )

The family would like to thank all doctors and nurses and staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, especially the Renal Dialysis Unit for their kindness and compassion. It will forever be remembered.
